Knitting 101

Good Evening!

I am so excited about our launch!! As I'm writing this we have 26 fans, and we've been official for 3 days.
I am getting ready to start our Etsy page, and I've got a giveaway planned at 100 fans. This is all in reference to our FB page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Knot-on-Purpose/164128793607866 Check it out and tell your friends!

I am all about taking on 100 projects all at once and pretending to be superwoman, so I started knitting. Now, I've crocheted for years, I love it, I'm learning new patterns more frequently than ever before, and I hope to be bringing you some of your new favorite items made with love. I have, however, never knitted until tonight. What a task! I am enjoying it, and I am frustrated, and I'm wondering how I'll ever get it.

My first pointer to any new knitter out there... it's not just about the needles! Once you relax and let your fingers assist with the yarn it becomes easier! I was so tense and trying to use the needles from way to far down them that nothing was going right. Now that I've relaxed and my fingers are helping as needed it's getting easier!

I'm going to be taking pictures tomorrow night, and I will be uploading them and sharing him on FB and here, so be watching. Hopefully we have something that will catch your eye.

I'm not ready for Monday - are you? I would rather stay curled up on my couch, knitting and/or crocheting until 3am, sleep in tomorrow, and do it all over again, but nope. Work beckons. For two more weeks. I'm counting down!

I hope you have a fantastic night and I hope your Monday goes smoothly and gets you right on into Tuesday without a single bump in the road. :)

In Him,
Regina

Starting off on the right foot...

It's Monday, four days before our scheduled launch, and I can't help but write a blog post early. I am so excited about this new venture, and I'm thankful to be partners with one of my best friends. I also am looking forward to the upcoming changes in my life. I keep telling myself to slow down, and seek God, and everytime I think of Knot on Purpose, I think of the following verses from Proverbs 31:
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
I keep thinking, God wants us as women, Mom's, and wives to be profitable to our families. I don't think that means God intends for each of us to be millionares, or CEO's. I'm not looking for a get rich quick method, but I want to be dedicated to prospering my family. I know what I can already do with my hands, and I know I can learn new projects. I hope to watch this project grow into a wonderful chance to share with other families, prosper my own, and build relationships along the way.

In Him,
Regina Thomas
